The authors did an excellent job in highlighting issues and the tables in section 2, " Aging of the RN Workforce" list excellent strategies. Very interesting article. Tuition reimbersement is a relative term s we have discovered. No mention as to the percentage of reimbersement that was considered advantageous as an incentive. Adding school to an already stressed community should also have financial rewards upon completion to encourage participation in scholarly endeavors.
Interesting article, I like the MedScape site, they have many articles to offer. I diito MaryLou's comment regarding tuition reimbursement. More dollars need to be added to the entire scholarly community, not jusy through tuition reimbursement. Professors spend a great deal of time and money on their education, and then go teach. They too should see a better financial reward. Thanks for the article!
