- My name is Linda Belkner and I am the Administrative Manager of Nursing at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. I have been a registered nurse for 33 years and I am a student in the Masters of Management program at Cambridge College. I live in Concord, MA with my husband, daughter, and our Yorkshire terrier. I am very interested in the nursing shortage and the aging nursing workforce and how the nursing profession will adapt and change in the next decade and beyond.

My mom is a baby boomer and she is 60 years old and puts money away every month to have a nurse come into her home when she can’t take care of herself anymore. At first I thought it was wasted money…but not so much anymore. I feel it is necessary to start putting money away for long term health care...sooner than later. What are Baby Boomers to do, due to the shortage in Nursing care?
